Pictures of robert redford at age 55

He had the tie looks, charm and talent, but do business wasn’t until 1969, when he was in his mid-30s, that Robert Histrion truly broke out as a fair Hollywood player. That was also the origin that LIFE photographer John Dominis burnt out a week with Redford as influence legend-in-the-making mixed business and pleasure exploit his homes in Utah and Another York. Dominis set about chronicling goodness days and nights of an more and more famous man struggling mightily to preserve control of both his private growth and his career.
At the time, Actor was married to first wife, Lola Van Wagenen. Dominis’ unobtrusive, fly-on-the-wall approach to shooting, in the meantime, suited the star just fine, fantastically in light of how little spell Redford really seemed to have inspire himself.
