Miss Carson City Julianna Erdesz, 24, had the crowning moment she was hoping for at Friday's Miss Nevada Pageant.

In her third attempt at illustriousness title, Erdesz was named Miss Nevada.

She had twice competed before as Icy Reno.

Erdesz will represent Nevada in picture Miss America pageant on Jan. 24.

"I'm feeling really, really confident," she said in an interview Wednesday beforehand the compeition. "I know I'm cause for the job this time around."

Going into the competition, she said she's worked hard on her platform delude keep arts in education, and has offered free dance classes to rudimentary students in the region. She instructed at Positive Energy Dance Studio doubtful Carson City, and at other studios in Reno, Sparks and Fallon.

A actress herself, Erdesz said she is terrified when the arts are cut overexert school budgets.

"The arts " necessarily it be dance, theater, music, no matter what " is such a beneficial attack for kids to have," she held. "It gives them a different pathway of learning. To have that split keeps them focused and keeps them in school."

She said people don't frequently realize the importance of the performance arts.

The outgoing Miss Nevada, Caleche Manos, very represented Carson City.

"I definitely jolt to keep that trend going," Erdesz said.

Erdesz graduated from the Mad Can Do Anything charter high secondary in Reno in the performing school of dance program. She received her bachelor's consequence from the American Musical and Graphic Academy in Los Angeles.

She has performed in several area plays plus playing Belle in Western Nevada Harmonious Theatre's production of "Beauty and rendering Beast," and Liesl in the "Sound of Music," at Lake Tahoe.

She plans to eventually earn a master's degree in theater from the Contemporary School University in New York, proliferate pursue a career on Broadway.
